BattleCreek Canada is a Canadian representative for BattleCreek Log Homes originating in Pittsburg, Tennessee. We're located 45 minutes West of Ottawa, just outside the town of Renfrew.
Battle Creek Log Homes is a family owned and operated, full service, company that has been designing, building and constructing log homes for more than twenty years. Founded in Alabama in the early 70’s. Battle Creek strives to maintain the art of log home building that has been a tradition in the south for generations, all the while, utilizing the latest technologically advanced building techniques the modern world has to offer. This combination of old world craftsmanship and modern day advancements makes a Battle Creek Log Home one of the finest quality homes in the industry today.
Battle Creek starts each and every home with hand selected, kiln dried, eastern white pine. Eastern White Pine is renowned for its high “R-value,” superior stability, limited shrinkage, and its’ beautiful grain. It is also lightweight and easily stained in wide variety of colors. For this reason Eastern White Pine is the choice wood for all Battle Creek Log Homes.
The Kiln drying process makes Eastern White Pine even more stable. Kiln drying helps remove water and sap from the logs, and minimizes any twisting, shrinking, warping, checking, or cracking the can occur with non-kiln dried logs. Kiln drying has a host of benefits and is the standard at Battle Creek Log Homes.
After each log has been hand selected and kiln dried, Battle Creek then precision mills each log into a variety of log profiles each of which features a double tongue and groove joining system. The double tongue and groove system has been proven to add strength and rigidity while helping prevent air infiltration. Each tongue and groove is fortified with a weatherproof gasket to further ensure an airtight seal. The logs are then anchored together with lag screws. This combination of tongue and groove, weatherproof gaskets, and lag screws ensure an airtight seal in each Battle Creek Log Home.
Finally, after being milled and individually inspected, cut, and numbered for each and every individual plan, the logs are then packed in weatherproof coverings and shipped any where in the United States or Canada. Battle Creek also has it's own construction crews available to "Dry-In," their homes anywhere in the United States or Canada.
